File Requests — Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 23, 2026
File Requests is a Wix app that lets businesses collect documents from their clients through a private link. This policy describes exactly what data the app touches, where it lives, and how to make it disappear.
Where your data lives
The app runs entirely on Wix's infrastructure. We operate no servers and no databases of our own. Requests and upload records are stored in collections inside the site owner's own Wix CMS, and every uploaded file is stored directly in the site owner's Wix Media Manager, inside a "File Requests" folder. Nothing passes through or rests on any system we control.
What the app processes
- Requests: a title, an optional note and due date, an optional client name, an optional password, and a share token.
- Uploaded files: the files a client chooses to send (documents, images, archives and similar). Stored only in the site owner's Media Manager.
- Upload records: file name, size, and upload time, so the site owner can see what arrived for each request.
- The request page address: the public URL of the page hosting the widget, detected once so share links can be built automatically. It is visible and editable in the dashboard.
What we do not do
- We do not sell or share data with third parties.
- We do not use data for advertising or profiling.
- We do not collect payment details — billing is handled by Wix.
- We do not copy files anywhere; they stay in the site's Media Manager and are served by Wix's media platform.
Deleting data
Deleting a request in the dashboard permanently deletes the request record and its upload records. Files are never deleted by the app — they remain in the site's Media Manager under the site owner's full control. Uninstalling the app removes the app's collections according to Wix's standard app-data lifecycle.
