Curbcut Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 20, 2026
Curbcut is a Shopify app that audits your store's theme for accessibility defects and proposes code fixes. This policy describes exactly what data the app touches, where it goes, and how to make it disappear.
What we collect
- Your shop's identity: the myshopify.com domain and the API access token Shopify issues when you install the app.
- Theme source files: the Liquid files of your published theme, read via Shopify's API when you run a scan.
- Scan results: the defects found, the proposed corrections, and — immediately before any fix is applied — a backup copy of the affected theme file, kept so the change can be reversed.
What we never collect
Curbcut has no access to and stores nothing about your customers: no names, emails, addresses, orders, payment details, or browsing behaviour. The app reads theme code, not shopper data.
Where data goes
- Anthropic (Claude API): theme file contents are sent to Anthropic's API for accessibility analysis and are processed transiently to produce the audit.
- Fly.io: our servers and database are hosted on Fly.io infrastructure in the United States.
We do not sell data to anyone, ever.
Cookies and tracking
The app runs inside your Shopify admin using Shopify's session tokens. We set no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies and run no analytics trackers on your storefront.
Retention and deletion
Scan results and theme backups exist to serve you and are deleted when you uninstall the app. We also honour Shopify's privacy webhooks: upon a shop-redaction request, every record associated with your shop is erased.
Your rights
You can ask us at any time what data we hold about your shop, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted — by email below or simply by uninstalling the app, which triggers deletion automatically.
